The Lagos State Government has closed down a supermarket for vending expired goods


 The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency issued No. 3, Oduduwa Crescent Government Reserved Areas, Ikeja, closed for sale of expired toothpaste and other household items.  

 LASCOPA CEO Afola Bisolevo said LASCOPA responded to information obtained from consumer posts on his social media. 



 The agency said so in a statement posted on the state's Instagram page on Tuesday. 

 "The Lagos State Consumer Protection Authority today closed the Chiffy supermarket at 3 Oduduwa Crescent GRA, Ikeja, for selling expired toothpaste and other household items," the statement said.  

 “LASCOPA Managing Director, Afolabi Solebo, Esq. GRA Ikeja's Chiffy supermarket responded quickly and took action Sunday after a tip from a consumer Facebook post alerted agents and the public to expired products being sold. .
