The president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and his close allies are currently in Mecca, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, for Umrah, otherwise known as the "lesser Hajj."
Tinubu left Nigeria for France a few days ago, according to his media aide, Tunde Rahman.
The president-elect went to rest after campaigning for several months, according to the statement released a few days ago.
The statement had earlier revealed that Tinubu will also perform Umrah in Saudi Arabia before returning to Nigeria.
In the video circulating on social media, Tinubu is seen at the holy mosque in Mecca with his aides and close associates.
Many Nigerians in the mosque were struggling to snap pictures with the president-elect as he performed the spiritual exercise.
However, many Nigerians on social media have reacted to the presence of the president-elect at the holy mosque. Many prayed for him to succeed when he finally takes over the government in May.
