Hisbah Demolishes 2.5 Million Containers Of Intoxicants In Kano

The Kano State Hisbah Board has demolished more than two million containers of alcoholic beverages that were seized in the state. As per the report by Daily Trust on Thursday, the board explained that the move was made to reinforce its battle against the unlawful importation, sale, and consumption of alcohol in the state.

The Commandant of Hisbah, Sheikh Sani Harun Ibn-Sina, revealed that they had obtained a court directive to demolish the alcohol and that they would persevere with their fight against acts that went against Islamic teachings. He mentioned that there was a regulation that banned the importation, sale, and consumption of alcohol and similar substances in Kano State, and they would always strive to ensure that the regulation was adhered to in order to purify the state of the hazardous substances. He also stated that this was not the first time they had taken this measure, as they had previously destroyed about one million bottles in the first phase and two million bottles in the second phase, and now they were demolishing 2.5 million bottles.
