GERMANY LEADS NIGERIA TO SCHADE



 Germany leads the international loyalty race for exciting striker Kevin Scheide. After English Premier League club Brentford confirmed the youngster had been invited to join the German national team before the international break.


Born to a German mother and a Nigerian father, Schaede is eligible to represent both Germany and Nigeria in international competitions.


The versatile player has represented the German U-21 national team, where he has scored four goals in five appearances. After coach Hansi Flick invited him to the senior national team for the first time, he was able to play for the senior national team in the following friendly matches against Peru and Belgium.


The Nigerian Football Association has reportedly been monitoring Schaade's progress for some time and wanted to persuade him to switch allegiance and play for the Super Eagles.


Brentford said on their website: "Kevin Schede has been called up to Germany for the first time. similar news

"The Brentford striker could feature in Germany's friendly matches against Peru (25 March) and Belgium (28 March)."


Schaede joined Brentford on loan from Freiburg in January and is due to be officially signed this summer for an undisclosed club-record transfer fee.



He made his debut for his first team in August 2021, and in addition to breakout, he made 23 appearances in all competitions of his season as Freiburg finished his sixth in the Bundesliga.


He scored four goals last season, including in the 84th minute against Bayer Leverkusen.

The forward made 20 appearances in his 2022/23 season, eight of which were for Brentford.


He assisted Matthias in his Jensen goal in Brentford's 3-2 win over Fulham earlier this month and made his first start against Southampton last Wednesday.
